Video Collage/Projection (2025)
This project is a result of my search through the Internet Archive (https://archive.org/). Out of the 17 videos I compiled to make this piece, 14 of them were from the Internet Archive, many of them over 30 minutes long. Here I wanted to focus on the differences between old and new technologies, and the nature surrounding them. Flickering between typewriters, propeller aircraft, and antique pressure gauges, to more modern architecture and transportation, puts these two in the same reality. This reality, however, is split up by shots of nature, usually in the form of disaster. We did not get where we are today without sacrificing parts of this planet, and global warming, pollution (light, sound, air, water), and deforestation are real problems.
The audio, a genre of music called "botanica," is one I have been exploring more the past few months and one I feel like well captures the essence of my style of editing and remixing video.
